Beluga Care Homes is a residential children's crisis home that provides emergency accommodation and care for young people in need.
Our support is typically short-term, lasting up to 28 days, but may be extended if needed.
Our ethos encompasses providing individually tailored care and support packages for looked after young people and care leavers aged 8-17.
We do this on a planned year-round basis, providing care that will help young people within our service to develop both the social and life skills, that will enable them to build their own independence and to live safely and productively in the community.
We see a crisis as an opportunity for change. By focusing on the individual, our crisis placements have been designed to ensure each young person can be fully assessed as part of a suitable placements being found.
All our staff are comprehensively trained to manage challenging behaviour and disaffection. The focus lies on building success, which for some is initially hard to accept after years of knowing only failure and rejection. But our therapeutic teams use a number of resources to prescribe the best program for personal assessment.
